At just 14 months old, she began hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
y the time she was 6 months old, her world had grown painfully small. She could no longer tolerate light and was only comfortable in darkened rooms. Even traveling required a completely blacked-out car seat carrier to shield her from the light.
As the months passed, her development came to a standstill. Skills she had been gaining stopped progressing, and she withdrew from nearly everyone around her, seeking comfort only in her mother’s arms. The little girl who should have been discovering the world no longer played games, watched movies, or laughed. Every day seemed to be overshadowed by pain.

Crying tears of joy as I’m typing this because I’m just so proud of our girl. The past 19 days have shed so much past trauma and hurt right off of her mind and eyes. For those of you that know her, it may seem shocking that she is sitting and playing with a room full of “strangers”. But she is, and she is happy and she made friends with them willingly, she reached for them!! She waves to them! for some time I’ve known deep down that she was experiencing true seperation anxiety and ptsd from her medical procedures. watching her be afraid and hold all of her personality in was so disheartening and sad as a mom. But the past few days we have seen her blossom and I am just so thankful. I can’t wait to go home and see how she greets all of her friends 💓
