Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Anti-aging

Your skin loses collagen. Cells repair more slowly. Circulation quietly becomes less efficient. These are not opinions about aging, they are biology. And at the root of many of these changes is one thing: your body’s tissues are getting less oxygen than they used to.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy works by delivering pure, medical-grade oxygen under increased pressure, allowing your blood, plasma, and tissues to absorb far more oxygen than normal breathing ever could. That oxygen reaches areas of the body where circulation has slowed, supporting the natural processes tied to collagen production, cellular repair, inflammation control, and skin health.

This is not a cosmetic treatment. It is not a shortcut. It is a physiological approach to something that starts deep inside the body, long before it shows up in the mirror.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Anti-aging

What Actually Happens to Your Body as You Age

Aging isn’t just about wrinkles. The visible stuff, the skin, the energy dip, the slower recovery, those are symptoms of something deeper.

Oxygen delivery changes as you get older. Circulation becomes less efficient. Cells that once received a steady supply of oxygen start working with less of it. Tissue repair, which used to happen almost automatically overnight, gets slower. And inflammation the quiet, low-grade kind that doesn’t announce itself with pain starts accumulating in the background.

None of this is dramatic. It’s gradual. And that’s exactly why most people write it off as “just getting older.”

Here’s what’s interesting, though: a lot of what we observe in our patients who use HBOT for wellness and anti-aging support lines up with what researchers have been exploring about oxygen’s role in these very processes. Collagen synthesis. Cellular repair. Angiogenesis the formation of new blood vessels. Inflammation reduction.

We’re not in the business of overselling that. But it’s worth understanding, which is why we take the time to explain it properly before anyone commits to a session.

How Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Works

You lie down inside a pressurized chamber. You breathe in pure, medical-grade oxygen. The pressure at our facility, we use 3 ATA medical-grade chambers, which is clinical-level, not the soft-shell spa variety allows your body to absorb oxygen at a concentration your lungs can’t achieve under normal conditions.

That oxygen gets into your plasma. Into tissues that don’t have great blood flow. Into areas your circulation has trouble reaching consistently.

A few of the mechanisms researchers and clinicians have been exploring in the context of aging.

Collagen and skin health: Fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen, appear to respond to elevated oxygen environments. Collagen is the structural protein behind skin firmness and elasticity. As we age, production slows. HBOT may support an environment where fibroblast activity is more active. This is not a guaranteed outcome. It’s a mechanism worth knowing about.

Cellular repair and renewal: The body’s ability to repair damaged cells doesn’t disappear with age it slows down. Some researchers have looked at HBOT’s role in supporting mitochondrial function and the body’s natural cellular repair processes. The work in this area is ongoing.

Inflammation: Chronic, low-grade systemic inflammation is increasingly discussed in longevity research as a driver of many age-related changes. HBOT has well-documented anti-inflammatory effects it’s one of the reasons it’s used after radiation therapy and in wound care. That same mechanism is relevant here.

Circulation: HBOT stimulates the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis). Better circulation means better delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues throughout the body including skin.

Telomere research: This is the frontier stuff. Some early studies have looked at HBOT’s potential relationship with telomere length, a biological marker scientists associate with cellular aging. The research is very early. We bring it up because our patients ask, and we’d rather explain it honestly than pretend it doesn’t exist.

Important: HBOT for anti-aging is an off-label use. The FDA has not approved hyperbaric oxygen therapy specifically for anti-aging purposes. All information here describes biological mechanisms and research directions. Results vary between individuals. Please discuss with your physician and our team before beginning any program.

What Patients Actually Notice

We don’t run before-and-after photo contests. That’s not how we operate. But when patients come back and many do, repeatedly, year after year they tell us things.

The energy comment comes up more than anything else. Not “I feel amazing” in an infomercial sense. More like: “I’m sleeping better.” “I bounced back from my knee surgery faster than my surgeon expected.” “My afternoon crash is just… gone.”

The skin observations tend to come later, usually after eight to twelve sessions. People notice it in photos before they notice it in the mirror. A dermatologist mentions something. A friend asks if they’ve changed their skincare routine.

One patient a woman in her late fifties who came to us initially for post-surgery recovery told us her aesthetician asked what she’d been doing differently. She hadn’t changed anything except adding HBOT to her quarterly routine.

We’re sharing these as patient experiences, not as clinical evidence of outcomes. Individual results vary, and we will always tell you that honestly.

Is HBOT Anti-Aging Support Right for You?

Honestly? It’s not for everyone. And we’ll tell you that on the phone before you ever come in.

HBOT anti-aging support tends to resonate with people who:

  • Are in their 40s, 50s, or 60s and are proactive about how they age, not reactive
  • Have already done the basics (sleep, nutrition, exercise) and want to add something with physiological depth
  • Are you dealing with skin changes, slower recovery, or energy fluctuations that feel different from what they expected
  • Want a non-invasive, drug-free option that fits into a broader wellness plan
  • Are working with a physician on longevity or healthspan goals and want to add HBOT to the conversation

It’s not a replacement for medical care. We’re a complement to it.

And if you’re not a candidate, maybe you have a contraindicated condition, or your goals don’t align with what HBOT can realistically support, we’ll tell you that in the consultation. We’d rather lose a potential client than waste their time.

Why This Clinic Specifically?

There’s a version of this where we list our awards and credentials and call it a day. You’ve probably seen that on every clinic website you’ve already visited.

Here’s what actually matters:

Stephanie Janca Davis built this practice from the ground up in 2003. She’s worked with infants with neurological conditions, professional athletes, patients with Lyme disease, cancer patients going through radiation, and yes adults in their 50s and 60s who came in because they wanted to feel more like themselves. That range of experience shapes how she approaches every new patient. Nothing gets templated.

Our equipment runs at 3 ATA full medical-grade pressure. The difference between that and a soft-shell chamber matters. At lower pressures, oxygen saturation in the blood and plasma is meaningfully lower. We invested in clinical-grade equipment because clinical-grade results require it.

Dr. Stephen M. Strait, DO, serves as our Medical Director. He’s been with us since 2018 and his involvement means there’s physician oversight built into everything we do not just a name on a website.
